We are Eden Counseling Services, Inc.

Vision

Our vision for Eden Counseling Services, Inc. is to create a legacy of highly trained, qualified, caring clinicians for the world while serving our local community.

Values

Eden Counseling Services is deeply committed to promoting equity, championing diversity, fostering a sense of belonging, seeking inclusive methods, and caring for our community. We value and encourage authenticity, vulnerability, responsibility, and accountability.

We honor and invest in the diverse racial and cultural identities of our team, clients, partner organizations, and community members, whom we consider our valued stakeholders.

We unapologetically affirm the rights of all LGBTQ+ community members.

We question, seek to understand, and—wherever possible—remedy the racist, sexist, heteronormative, and ableist systems that harm people and our environment.

Practices

We practice trauma-informed care, promoting inclusive, affirming, and flexible practices. We will tailor our approach to the needs of our stakeholders wherever possible.

As therapists and community mental health workers, we are our best tools. We must care for ourselves and develop insights into our psychologies. We can do this through psychotherapy, journaling, self-study, or other means. We expect our team to care for themselves and support each other so our community can thrive.

Leadership, management, staff, and trainees uphold these values in their work and as representatives of Eden Counseling Services.

We acknowledge that we are not perfect and can never be perfect. We will make mistakes, repair, and strive to embody our values in everything we say and do.

Belonging

‘Creating the Safe Space that Eden has become is one of my proudest lifetime achievements. I have worked as a therapist supporting people from “all walks of life” since 2005. My dream has always been to provide a space of authenticity and belonging for people of diverse backgrounds and experiences. I began creating that space with my private practice in 2018. In 2019, I joined Eden to further co-create and grow that safe space–expanding the number of lives touched, training, and supporting future clinicians to carry on the legacy of a space where everyone belongs.’
